Melissa Crim, M.Ed. | Celestial Roots Astrology
Astrologer. Ritualist. Root-dweller. Sky-gazer.
My name is Melissa Crim. I’m a Leo Sun, Cancer Rising, Taurus Moon, and everything I offer through Celestial Roots Astrology grows from that triad of creative fire, ancestral grounding, and intuitive care.

I also have Mercury conjunct Pluto in Virgo, the signature of an underworld translator. I carry the torch of Mercury the messenger and Pluto the transformer, rooted in Virgo’s sacred discernment. I’m wired to see what others miss and tend to the details of your chart like a sacred manuscript.

My North Node in Pisces reminds me to surrender to mystery, to trust what’s invisible, and to follow intuition over perfection. With Lilith in Leo, I carry the fire of the untamed self — the refusal to be silenced, the devotion to creative truth, and the sacred defiance that says: I will not disappear.

This cosmic blueprint has shaped my path in ways I’m still learning to name.

Before I was a practicing astrologer, I was (and still am) a Licensed Professional Counselor (in TN and 7 other states) and a Certified Clinical Ecotherapist. My path into astrology wasn’t a detour. It was a spiraled return. For years, I’ve walked with clients through trauma, loss, identity, and transformation. Repeatedly, I’ve seen how the soul knows before the mind can explain. When astrology entered the room, it offered a mirror that didn’t pathologize but recognized.
What I Offer:
Through Celestial Roots, I offer a soulful, grounded approach to astrology that blends myth, psychology, nature, archetypal and ancestral exploration, and embodiment. My work is especially resonant for those healing religious trauma, reclaiming their voice, or tending long-exiled parts of themselves. This is astrology for the untamed self — the ones who never quite fit the mold.
My sessions, courses, and writings often include:
· Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore inner voices and contradictions
· Eco-astrology & nature-based ritual, drawn from my ecotherapy practice
· Archetypal storytelling, often through the lens of Lilith, Chiron, and the elements
· Astrology of Activism, weaving planetary energies into collective liberation
· Workshops and retreats grounded in ritual, community, and cosmic timing
· Substack writings and offerings, rooted in seasonal cycles, grief, healing, and myth

I also co-host the podcast Melissa Has Questions: a quirky and soulful conversation with Bonnie Gillespie about psyche, planets, and personal truth. Recently, we renamed and are thrilled to host the YouTube podcast, "Dear Everything... (We have Questions)." I’ve also served as a guest on the radio show Psychobabble, where I speak to the growing need for spiritually and psychologically grounded community in these intense times.
What’s Emerging:
I’m currently writing my first book:
The Wild Edges of Grief: An Astrology-Guided Journey Through the Terrain of Love and Loss, a gathering of essays, ritual, poetry, and reflection for the grieving soul.

I’m also launching a series of immersive experiences under the Wild and Wise umbrella, for those ready to walk the spiral path of self-discovery:
· Wild and Wise: A 6-Part Introduction to the Myth & Astrology of Lilith
· Nature as Sanctuary: Healing with the Elements
· The Haunting & Healing of Liminal Spaces
· Charting Your Wild & Wise Self: Astrology Basics for Living an Untamed and Intentional Life
· Astrology of Activism: Planets, Purpose, and Collective Power (local workshop)
These are for those ready to shed old skins, remember what’s sacred, and live from the deeper truth within.
Who I Am (Beyond the Chart):
I live in historic East Nashville, where the sidewalks are uneven and full of stories. I share life with my partner, my teenage son, and our beloved animals: Lola Winifred Pants, the chihuahua; Hope, the Doberman; and Van (Halen), the bearded dragon.
Born in Texas and rooted in Tennessee, I’m a child of the South, deeply aware of its dark and damaging history. I’m a keeper of old stories. I tend the land around me and love my people fiercely.

I paddleboard under full moons. I hike ancient trails. I cry at cemeteries and dance through grocery stores. I believe in the wisdom of oceans, the defiance of dandelions, and the radical act of rest. I love ruins and relics, pyramids and passageways, fossils, feathers, and the scent of cedar after rain. I make offerings to the wild. And my heart lives in the Redwoods, those ancient, towering kin who teach us how to root deep and reach wide.

Give me anything old, anything buried, anything humming just below the surface — mossy graveyards, carved initials on forgotten trees — and I’ll feel right at home. I hold deep reverence for forgotten objects and the hands that once held them. My Acadian ancestry lives in me. Their loss, their exile, their songs still echo in my blood and bones. I believe ancestry is medicine, and that healing stretches forward and backward through time.

I believe grief, joy, resistance, and ritual are holy companions.
And I believe every chart is an invitation. Not to become someone new, but to return to the truth you’ve always carried.
Why I’m Here:
At Celestial Roots, we walk with the sky as our companion and the Earth as our guide. We use astrology to excavate truths buried beneath conditioning, to listen to exiled parts, and to reclaim the sacred timing of our own becoming.

I work with and write for the ones who never quite fit the mold. The grief-tenders, the wanderers, the ones ready to unearth what’s been buried. Whether you’re exploring your chart for the first time or deepening into your cosmic language, this space welcomes you as you are: bold, skeptical, tender, layered, and luminous.

If that’s you:
Welcome home to the roots of your sky.
